The day of the Green Pass has officially arrived. That
August 6 awaited by some and feared by others is here , green certification has
become mandatory for many realities and activities: only those who have
received the famous certificate attesting to vaccination will be able to have
freedom of access to the places affected by the legislation. The task of the
police and the activities affected by the prohibitions will be to check the
effective validity of the Green Pass.
But how does the control work? How is it possible to
distinguish between true and false certifications? The Government has recently
prepared an application, called VerificationC19, which with promises of simplicity
and speed, allows employees to carry out a very delicate task for the future of
the country and of our everyday life.
An indispensable certification
We have been talk about it since the beginning of the
summer. Many have already received it, many have had difficulties, but its role
is of fundamental importance. The Green Pass is closely linked to a faster
return to normality , it will be valid at the community level and will allow us
to carry out activities that would otherwise be precluded.
The certification has a variable duration, depending on our
health situation from the point of view of Covid19. The complete vaccination
course, the one with the two doses already completed, will make the pass valid
for 9 months , 270 days starting from the date of the last vaccine
administration received.
Having received the first dose, however, will entitle you to
a pass that will start from the fourteenth day after the vaccine and that will
last until the maximum time for the second dose expires. By taking a swab you
will instead have access to a short Green Pass lasting 48 hours . Having dealt
with the disease and being cured will entitle you to a 6-month pass , 180 days
starting from the date of the first positive swab.
Green light
If receiving the Green Pass, despite the numerous problems ,
is becoming easier and easier thanks to an almost automated process , a
fundamental role will be played by the staff in charge of our certification.
Having a valid Pass will in fact be used to have access to
sporting events, fairs, congresses, museums, theme parks, amusement parks,
cinemas, concerts, public competitions . Events and place with a large influx
of people will in fact be closed to everyone else, but the new restrictions
will also involve some daily activities. The certification, in fact, will be
required for bars, restaurants, swimming pools, gyms and wellness centers that
carry out their activity indoors. It will be the responsibility of the owners
or employees of all these activities to check the Pass of each customer and
only those who have a valid document will be able to enter.
The fines for offenders will be steep: from 400 to 1000
Euros for both activities and customers, with the possibility for the police to
decree the closure from 1 to 10 days of commercial establishments guilty of
having repeated such violations.
Verification C19
The verification process, which many doubts and fears had
raised in recent days, seems simpler than one could imagine. The Government has
in fact made its official app available to give all merchants the ability to
check, in a few simple steps, the validity and authenticity of its customers'
Green Pass.
It is called VerificationC19 , it can be easily installed on
iOS and Android and allows, via camera, to check the QR code present in each
certification and understand if it is valid or not.
The app also works outside the internet, does not store
personal data and only gives access to information that is essential for the
success of the checks. The process is simple and intuitive: you open the app,
scan the QR Code and wait for the response , which should be quick and
immediate.
In the event of an invalid Green Pass, the app lights up
red. If, on the other hand, the certification is valid, the traffic light will
be tinged with green, also showing name, surname and date of birth, data
necessary to then verify the identity of the holder of the certification. The
scanning of the QR Code will, as a rule, be followed by the request to show an
identity document , which is essential to avoid exchanges of Green Pass between
users.
The simplest way
If many were convinced that the burden of verification would
have fallen only to the representatives of the police, the latest choices of
the Government clearly show that this will not be the case: therefore all the
employees assigned to control will be fundamental, who will necessarily have to
filter the entrances. to avoid running into legal problems.
The app was the simplest possible tool to make the control
quick and almost automatic and only the field test will be able to establish
whether the green certification system can really work. Those that will follow
will in fact be very intense weeks and if the good will of the merchants is
accompanied by an equally valid app, able to work without problems and above
all reliable, it will be possible to move on to the next step, which will make
the Green Pass mandatory for many more. activity .
If the system proves efficient in this month of August, it
is clear that things will evolve, also in anticipation of the cold season in
which, despite vaccinations, infections could rise further.
Near future
In the coming weeks, to avoid another winter with
suspensions and limitations in the exercise of commercial activities, red
regions and lockdowns, the Government will make the Green Pass even more
central. Verification C19 will become a fundamental tool for many other moments
of our life.
As early as September, we will start talking strongly about
green certification to use ships, trains and planes . The new rule should come
into effect in a time window between September 15 and October 1.
For trains, we will start with high speed and long
distances, and then the measures will also be extended to regional transport
and subway lines. It is difficult to predict from today how controls will be
streamlined to avoid queues and delays, but the road, despite numerous
protests, seems to have been drawn.
Now certainly the obligation to have green certification for
all school staff and, probably, also for other public employees. The hypothesis
of compulsory certification for all workers seems distant, but much will depend
on the trend of the contagion curve and on the effectiveness of these first
rules.
Important moments
VerificationC19 will be a first and very important test bench
to empower not only citizens but also merchants and business owners. This is a
delicate step and a lot will depend on the correct functioning of the app, its
effectiveness and its speed.
If the activities are found in the hands of an app that
performs poorly and offers no guarantees, the whole system would suffer a short
circuit. If, on the other hand, the promises were to be kept , control could
evolve into a quick habit , both for citizens and for businesses.
A fast, quick, effective, technologically advanced and safe
control process would target everything and everyone, shifting the focus on the
importance of vaccinations and on safety for the return to life that we all
await. The Green Pass must be shown as an opportunity and not a burden . What awaits
us will be crucial weeks.
